AR-KAICS, THE - s/t LP (Anniversary Edition)
PRE ORDER - RELEASE DATE IS FRIDAY AUGUST 29, 2025
Formed in Richmond, Virginia in 2013, The Ar-Kaics quickly carved out a reputation as one of the most faithful — and ferocious — garage rock bands of the modern era. With a sound rooted firmly in the snarling teenage angst of the mid-1960s, the band draws from the same raw well as The Kinks, The Seeds, The Troggs, and The Sonics, while injecting their own urgency and immediacy.
What sets The Ar-Kaics apart is their commitment to authenticity: stripped-down arrangements, fuzz-drenched guitars, pounding rhythms, and lyrics that cut straight to the heart of adolescent frustration, heartbreak, and rebellion. Their live shows are sweaty, high-energy affairs that feel less like concerts and more like time-warps back to a garage party circa 1966 — complete with unpolished grit and dangerous fun.
Over the past decade, The Ar-Kaics have toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe, sharing the stage with fellow torchbearers of garage and punk, while releasing a string of singles and albums on respected underground labels like Windian, Wick/Daptone, and Bachelor Records. Their songs have become staples for crate-digging DJs, underground radio, and fans of timeless rock ’n’ roll who crave music that’s immediate, raucous, and real. Marking 11 years since its debut, this reissue presses the self-titled LP in a strictly limited run of 200 black vinyl copies—crafted to bring the original’s fierce energy back to the turntable. A must-have for collectors and fans of garage punk’s visceral impact.
Track Highlights:
“You’ll Be Mine” – Immediate, jangly opener that grips from the start.
“Get Lost” & “No, No, No” – Attitude-filled garage bangers with raw vocal grit.
“Come On, Be My Baby,” “Motorcycle Monica” – Standout tracks with bubbling rebellion and swagger.
“The Ar-Kaics know how to play on an iconic, nostalgic sound and I’ll be damned if I’ve heard anyone do it better in recent years.” Heatwave Magazine
“...proof that this band excel well beyond the scope of a couple 7"s. ‘Can’t Keep Waiting’ is a perfect example ... packs a few well-placed screams.” Pitchfork’s Shake Appeal
