FAN CLUB - Ain't no Saint / Stimulation LP

What was LYSOL is now FAN CLUB! It was not exactly a cease-and-desist order what made them change their name, it was also the blend of garage punk they were evolving to. After seeing THE HIVES (certainly one of the bands in the global rock scene that has best emphasized garage rock as entertainment) they thought, whilst LYSOL was not sooooo far away stylistically, whe not ripping the HIVES off a little bit more!?!? They wrote a lot of songs in the year they christened the name FAN CLUB, then released a Demo Tape, self released the Aint No Saint EP and did another one with Feel It Records – and here we are with the LP that contains both of them singles, with new artwork, insert and lyrics!

MAX RNR writes: Formerly known as LYSOL, Seattle’s FAN CLUB hits a new high on Stimulation, a five-song, six-minute blast of incendiary hardcore punk with a rock’n’roll undercurrent. The songs tear forward with relentless motion and sharp, swaggering energy—closer to SEUDO YOUTH in pace and delivery than the slower grind of a lot of their earlier material. It recalls “Blessures Graves,” the standout from LYSOL’s Soup for My Family, where they ditched mid-tempo for full-throttle attack but somehow held on to the strut. It’s a sound that feels urgent, alive, and fully realized. One of the best things I heard all summer, and I swear this band keeps getting better the faster they move.
