Over the past few years, Toronto's Ichi-Bons have steadily evolved into the finest group in the city. Rooted in, but never limited by, a profound appreciation of early rock'n'roll and rockabilly, the trio here kick out a couple particularly savage, high-octane rave ups, snarling '66-inspired garage punk original flipped with a crude, reckless cover of a monster '65 side. Indeed, it was the opportunity to wax Ichi-Bons that brought Ugly Pop back from the grave. Limited to 400 black vinyl discs in swank sleeve. (UP074)
