WARM BODIES - s/t LP
- Label: Lumpy
- Catalog Number: LR-88
- Availability: In Stock
The much-anticipated full length from Kansas City freaks Warm Bodies is
here, following their debut 7" on Thrilling Living and several cassette
releases. This is by far the best collection of songs WB have put
together (and sure, this LP is about 50% re-recorded material, but all
works very well as an album). For those unacquainted with Warm Bodies,
the sound here is feverish, trebly, shouted, punk. And one major thing I
appreciate about this band is the complete lack of posturing or regard
for trends. I mean, who willingly writes a song called "Something Weird
Is Eating Me"? This whole thing is loose and guitar driven, but not
sloppy, allowing for Olivia's shouts and shrieks of exclamation to fully
push through the mix. This LP is packed full of ideas and just kind of
screams out at you with its creativity, as each member carves out a bit
of sonic space, but is able to reel that into a mesmerizing final mix.
Recommended! Lumpy Records.
Note: Like almost all Lumpy releases, the LP jacket shows light corner creasing from shipping.
